Xiaomi’s Redmi Go smartphone finally launched in India along with the UPI-based ‘Mi Pay’ payment service after unveiled in Philippines. The new Xiaomi low budget and affordable smartphone Redmi Go comes under Android Go program. This is the company first smartphone which comes under Google Android Go program. the Redmi Go mobile comes with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. There is also a dedicated MicroSD card slot for expanding the storage up to 128GB. Company also said that Users also get unlimited storage on Google Photos in high quality resolution.
Redmi Go specifications
The triple-slot Redmi Go is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chipset paired with Adreno 308 GPU and runs on Android Go Edition 8.1 Oreo. The phone has a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) display. The phone packed with 3,000mAh battery.
In terms of optics, the phone has a 8 megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and 1.12-micron pixels. For selfie it has 5 megapixel selfie shooter with f/2.2 aperture.
There is no fingerprint scanner or face unlock support other sensor include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, and a proximity sensor.
Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, GPS, Bluetooth v4.2, MicroUSB, and 3.5mm headphones jack.
Pricing and availability
1GB/8GB Redmi Go variant starts at Rs 4,499. The Xiaomi Redmi Go will be available in Black and Blue color options. The phone go on sale via Flipkart, mi.com and mi store from 22 March.
