Xiaomi’s another budget smartphone launched in India on Thursday. Redmi Y2 is a successor of Redmi Y1 which is selfie focused device by Xiaomi. The main highlights of the smartphone is its front camera which is 16 megapixel AI enabled selfie camera and face unlock features. It has also dual rear camera setup at back.
The Redmi Y2 is powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor with an Adreno 506 GPU and runs on MIUI 9.5 which is based on Android 8.1 Oreo. It has a 5.99-inch HD+ (720×1440 pixels) with an 18:9 aspect ratio. It is available in 3GB and 4GB RAM with 32GB and 64GB internal storage respectively. You can expand your device storage via microSD card with a dedicated card slot. The smartphone is backed with 3080mAh battery.
Now comes to main highlights of the smartphone, Redmi Y2 packed with dual camera setup at back with a primary sensor is 12 megapixel and secondary is 5 megapixel and for selfie lover, it has a 16 megapixel selfie camera. Both rear and front camera has portrait mode and other AI features.

Opinion- Redmi Y2 has a better design, better camera, dedicated card slot, Android 8.1 Oreo while Redmi Note 5 has better display, better battery. both smartphone has some pro and some con, if you are looking for camera phone then you can go with Redmi Y2 3GB/32GB variant or if you are looking for better battery then you go with Redmi Note 5. if your budget is Rs.14000 to Rs.16000 then you should go with Redmi Note 5 Pro.
