Huawei latest smartphone Nova 5 series launched in China with quad camera setup. Nova 5 and Nova 5 Pro packed with high end specs except SoC. The Nova 5 comes with company latest 7nm based HiSilicon 810 SoC based on two Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.27GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.88GHz, and paired with Mali-G52 GPU. Talking about design the new Nova 5 and Nova 5 Pro comes with water drop design display while Nova 5i comes with punch hole selfie camera design.

Both the smartphone comes with same design and almost same specs. The Pro model is powered by an octa-core Kirin 980 chipset while Nova 5 is powered by company’s latest 7nm HiSilicon Kirin 810 SoC. The device comes with a  6.39-inch full-HD+ (1080×2340 pixels) OLED pannel with 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and DC dimming support.

Talking about camera, both the smartphone features with quad camera setup with a 48 megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, a 16 megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor with an f/2.2 aperture, a 2 megapixel macro sensor with  f/2.4 aperture , and lastly 2 megapixel depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. For selfie it has 32 megapixel selfie shooter with an f/2.0 aperture.

Both devices are packed with 3,500mAh battery which support 40W Huawei SuperCharge technology. Both have In-display fingerprint sensor. User can expand their storage via microSD card slot in all three models. The Pro model comes with NFC support. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, GPS, Bluetooth v5.0, USB Type-C ports, No 3.5mm headphones jack.

Huawei Nova 5i specifications

The dual sim Nova 5i is powered by an octa-core Kirin 710 SoC. All three devices runs on Android 9.0 Pie based EMUI 9.1. It has a 6.4-inch full-HD+ (1080×2310 pixels) punch hole display.

The Nova 5i comes with quad camera setup with a primary 24 megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, an 8 megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor, a 2 megapixel macro sensor, and lastly 2 megapixel depth sensor. For selfie it has 24 megapixel selfie shooter with an f/2.0 aperture.

Unlike the Nova 5 and Nova 5 Pro, the Nova 5i sports rear mounted fingerprint scanner. The mobile phone packed with 4,000mAh battery. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, GPS, Bluetooth v4.2, USB Type-C ports and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Pricing and availability

The Pro model priced at CNY 2,999 (approx Rs 30,100) for the base variant 8GB/128GB Storage, 8GB/256GB variant will be available at CNY 3,399 (approx Rs 34,100). The device will be available in Bright Black, Midsummer Purple, Coral Orange, and Forest Green colours options and sale starts from 28th June. 

the limited edition of Huawei Nova 5 Pro with 8GB/256GB storage will be priced at CNY 3,799 (approx Rs 38,100).

The lone 8GB/128GB Storage variant of Nova 5 will be available at CNY 2,799 (approx Rs 28,100) in Bright Black, Midsummer Purple, and Forest Green colours. The phone will be available from 20th July. 

While Nova 5i starts at CNY 1,999 (approx Rs 20,100) for 6GB of RAM and 128GB and higher 8GB/128GB variant will be sold at CNY 2,199 (approx Rs 22,100).
